Prashant Altekar

Prashant Altekar started their work experience as a Senior Software Engineer at Patni Computer Systems in 1992. Prashant then worked as a Software Consultant at AT&T Universal Card Services from 1993 to 1998, where they were involved in architecture, design, development, integration, testing, and maintenance of various applications.

From 1998 to 2000, Prashant worked as an Assistant Vice President at First Union, where they built and led a team to develop an eCommerce framework called CSI.

In 2000, Prashant joined AdForce as Lead Architect and Developer, focusing on architecture, design, and implementation of J2EE-based applications for advertising campaigns.

From 2001 to 2003, they worked as an Architect at Cashedge, where they managed teams and brought scalability and performance improvements to their core products.

Prashant then worked as a Software Architect and Senior Developer at Azul Systems from 2003 to 2007. Prashant was responsible for the architecture, design, and development of the management system for Azul Appliance.

From 2007 to 2014, Prashant served as a Staff Engineer at Vendavo, contributing to various software engineering projects.

Prashant then joined VMware in 2014 as a Staff Engineer, where they worked on the Content Library Service for their Virtual Machines management. Their tenure at VMware lasted until 2020.

From 2020 until the present, Prashant Altekar has been a Software Engineer at Meta, working on software development projects.

Most recently, in 2023, they joined percipient.ai as a Principal Software Engineer.

Prashant Altekar completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Metallurgical Engineering from COEP Technological University between 1983 and 1987. Prashant then pursued further studies and obtained a Master of Technology degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, between 1988 and 1990.
