Janet Lai has an extensive work experience spanning over several companies and industries. Janet currently holds the position of Director, Technical Operations at Personalis, Inc. since September 2021. Prior to this, they worked as the Principal Scientist, Manufacturing Sciences & QC at Exact Sciences from November 2019 to September 2021. From March 2014 to November 2019, they served as the Director, Reagent Manufacturing & Quality at Genomic Health. Before that, they had a role in Reagents Development at NVS Technologies, Inc from July 2012 to March 2014. Janet also worked at Life Technologies as a Sr Staff Scientist from December 2002 to June 2012. Prior to that, they had positions at Corium International as a Scientist from October 2001 to December 2002, at W.L. Gore & Associates as a Scientist from April 1997 to August 2001, and at Arco Chemical/Nova Chemical as a Rheologist in 1996.
Janet Lai earned their Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Caltech in 1991. Janet then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Chemical Engineering at Stanford University, completing their studies in 1996.
