Alex Spiro is a Bonsai and Japanese Garden Display Horticulturist at Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens since September 2020, overseeing the bonsai collection and Japanese Garden while enhancing horticultural quality and introducing new plants. Previous roles at Phipps include Display Horticulturist and Production Grower, focusing on maintaining and assessing various plant displays for visitor enjoyment. Earlier experience includes a position as a Maintenance Laborer at Allegheny College in the summer of 2019 and two stints as a Research Assistant at the same institution in 2018. Alex Spiro earned a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science and Spanish from Allegheny College in May 2020.
