Dion Timmermann

Dion Timmermann is a Quantum Technology Training & Education Specialist at the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) since May 2021, focusing on the development of hands-on trainings for quantum technologies. Previously, Dion served as a Researcher in RF Metrology, where research involved traceable microwave mixer measurements. From February 2019 to April 2021, Dion worked as an Akademischer Mitarbeiter at Hochschule Karlsruhe – Technik und Wirtschaft, contributing to the SKATING project in tutor qualification and online education. Earlier experience includes a Ph.D. student role at Technische Universität Hamburg from June 2012 to January 2018 and an internship at Rohde & Schwarz, where Dion designed and tested small-signal amplifiers and developed calibration tools. An early career project at OFFIS involved programming a Point-of-Sale terminal. Dion holds a Doktor-Ingenieur degree and a Diplom-Ingenieur degree in Electrical Engineering, specializing in Telecommunications, from Hamburg University of Technology.
