Bala Aiyaswamy has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Starting in 1994, they co-founded an IT/web development start-up called Indradhanush Systems and successfully grew it into a business worth about 65 lakhs before selling it. In 1999, they joined NIIT Limited as a Team Lead Instructional Design. From 2002 to 2006, they worked at Tata Interactive Systems as a Senior Talent & Learning Consultant. Then, from 2006 to 2011, they worked at Merck, starting as the Manager Technology Learning & Systems before being promoted to Manager - Leadership Programs and later becoming the Leader of the Learning Systems & Design Center of Excellence. In 2011, they joined Tata Motors as an AGM HR before moving on to Reliance Industries Limited in 2014. At Reliance, they served as the Vice President of Human Resources and subsequently as the Head of Talent Management. Currently, Bala Aiyaswamy works at PI Industries Ltd, where they have held multiple positions, including Head of Talent Learning and Performance, Senior VP and Head Corporate HR Functions, and their current role as Chief People Officer.
Bala Aiyaswamy completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Human Resources Management and Services from Symbiosis Centre For Management and Human Resource Development in the years 2017 to 2020. Prior to that, Bala obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Chemistry from the University of Mumbai. In 2003, Bala attended SNDT University for a Certificate Program in Instructional Design. Additionally, Bala completed a Diploma in Computer Technology from NIIT Institute between 1996 and 1999.
