James (Brent) Kennedy has extensive experience in renewable energy and community outreach, currently serving as the Permitting and Technical Support at Rocky Mountain Solar and Wind, Inc. since May 2018. In addition, James contributes to the Pikes Peak Workforce Center and has held leadership roles such as Chairman of the Southeastern Colorado Renewable Energy Society and Treasurer of the Peak Alliance for a Sustainable Future. Furthermore, James has been involved with the Colorado Sustainability Collaborative as Teller County Community Energy Coordinator and has actively volunteered as a Rehabilitation Peer Counselor. James's educational background includes certifications from Solar Energy International and Madison Area Technical College, alongside a degree from the University of Colorado Boulder.

The Pikes Peak Workforce Center is an American Job Center serving El Paso and Teller counties that connects vital businesses with work-ready job seekers and employer-driven services. Last year, we served more than 39,000 clients including more than 10,000 veterans and over 1,000 young adults. We provide no-cost job seeker services from resume assistance, interview training, computer skills training and more. Clients range from entry-level to professional; include youth, adults, people returning to the workforce, underemployed and those with barriers to employment. Veterans always receive priority service. In support of regional employers, we host tailored, no-cost recruitment and hiring events including candidate sourcing, group and individual pre-employment assessments, provide a job database of searchable candidate profiles and more.
