Michael Shepard is a seasoned executive with extensive experience in the media and communications industry, currently serving as CEO of Pioneer Utility Resources since March 2016. Previously, Shepard held key leadership roles, including Regional Publisher at Wick Communications, where responsibilities encompassed oversight of multiple local outlets across several states, and Sr. Vice President of Business Operations at The Seattle Times, managing various operational aspects that resulted in significant cost savings. Additional experience includes serving as Publisher and President of Yakima Herald-Republic, as well as managerial roles at Walla Walla Union-Bulletin and Sound Publishing, where contributions led to product modernization and revenue growth. Shepard began the career as a reporter at Moscow/Pullman Daily News and holds a degree in Communications with a focus on Journalism from Washington State University.
