Steph Hays

Steph Hays is a seasoned microbiologist with extensive experience in both academic and industry settings. Currently serving as Scientist III at Pivot Bio since December 2020, Steph transitioned from research on cholera patient samples to focusing on agricultural microbes. Previous roles include postdoctoral researcher at UC Berkeley, where engagement in the Seed Lab involved studying the interactions between Vibrio cholerae and its bacteriophages. Experience at Harvard University encompassed curriculum development for public engagement in scientific communication and earning a Ph.D. in Systems Biology. Earlier research positions included synthetic biology instruction at MIT SEED Academy and various research roles at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, UCSF, and EPFL.
