Daniel Tierney currently serves as the Director of Software Engineering at Pivotal, leading the development of secure firmware and embedded systems software for eVTOL aircraft since October 2023. Prior to this role, Daniel held the position of Vice President of Flight Software, GNC, and Mission Systems at E-Space from March 2022 to May 2023, and served as the Senior Director of Software for GNC, Avionics, and Systems Engineering at Blue Origin from November 2020 to March 2022, where leadership contributed to the successful launch of Blue Origin's first human flight. Daniel's extensive experience at Maxar Technologies spanned over two decades, where responsibilities included directing flight software teams for over 110 satellites and managing on-orbit anomaly investigations. Previous roles also include positions at AlliedSignal as a Senior Software Engineer and as a Lecturer in Physics at the College of Southern Maryland, imparting knowledge on various physics topics and laboratory work.
