Uma Elie

Uma Elie is an experienced Intellectual Property Specialist currently working at pladis Global since April 2021. Prior to this role, Uma was a self-employed IP Freelance Consultant from December 2018 to April 2021 and held several positions at pladis Global from January 2016 to September 2018, including Global Intellectual Property Lead and Technical Intellectual Property Manager. Uma’s career also includes a significant tenure at United Biscuits (UK) Ltd from April 2001 to December 2015, where responsibilities involved technical intellectual property management and sensory and consumer science leadership. Uma began a career in the field as a Scientific Research Officer at the University of Reading between 1985 and 1987. Uma holds an M.Sc. in Food Technology - Quality Control from the University of Reading and a B.Sc. in Food & Management Science from King's College London.
