Michael Karasoff

Michael Karasoff is an experienced engineer specializing in FPGA and software development, with a strong focus on Lidar applications for autonomous vehicles. Currently serving as an FPGA Engineer at Planet since November 2020, Michael previously held positions at Argo AI as a Staff Software Engineer, KTX Sensing as an Engineer focusing on sensor design, and Uber Advanced Technologies Group, where leadership in Lidar embedded software contributed to high-definition sensor development. Other notable roles include leading software and embedded systems at Tyto LIDAR, and serving as a consultant for FPGA design at Velodyne and Karatronics. Michael holds a B.S. in Computer Engineering from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo and has pursued further studies in Geographic Information Science at Oregon State University.
