It is into media broadcasting, teleporting, content management, pre, and postproduction, distribution for multi-platform/multi-devices along with satellite-based telecom services and mobile connectivity via DSNG vans. The company is on its way in adopting cloud technology and going forward will focus its approach on international markets including SAARC, SEA, Middle East, and Africa. PlanetCast (formerly Essel Shyam) wins the world's First Green Teleport Award. Recognition by the World Teleport Association (WTA) on the green initiatives of PlanetCast. The company has been providing complete playout and broadcast facilities for STAR TV, Disney-UTV and Sony in India and installed satellite earth station and newsgathering network for India TV. It also has helped broadcasters in Bangladesh and Afghanistan. PlanetCast has also been instrumental in transmitting the high definition feeds for the third season of IPL. It supports the live streaming feeds for YouTube as well. Not just media, the company has also installed a hub and over 300 remote VSAT terminals nationwide for ONGC in C and Ku Band and implemented its SAP ERP. For Maharashtra Police, Essel Shyam had also provided the first police network of voice & data using VSAT's. It was also the key vendor for the e-governance project of the treasury department of the Madhya Pradesh government. The company has also diversified into defence contracts, high-end hydrometeorology system for the management of Bhakra Beas Management Board's water reservoirs. PlanetCast is responsible for the supply, installation, and commissioning of the system located in the Sutlej and Beas basins.
