Timo Silvonen

Timo Silvonen is a senior industrial designer at Planmeca Oy since June 2005, specializing in the industrial design and ergonomics of dental units, accessories, and CAD/CAM devices, with expertise in 3D CAD, CMF, visualizations, and presentations. Prior to this role, Timo co-designed award-winning dental units, earning accolades such as the Red Dot Design Award and the Fennia Prize Honorary Mention. Timo's experience also includes mentoring design students at Samsung Design Membership and serving as an invited professor of industrial design at Seoul National University. With a previous background as a senior designer and marketing director at 5D design consultancy, Timo began a career in industrial design with thesis work at Nokia Display Products and earlier freelance work focusing on monitor styling. Timo holds an MA in Industrial Design and a minor in International Design Business Management, alongside educational credentials from notable institutions.
