Courtney MacAvinta

Courtney Macavinta serves as the Vice President of Learning and Head of Education at Planned Parenthood Mar Monte, overseeing the Education Department for the largest Planned Parenthood affiliate in the country. With a robust background in education and youth equity, Macavinta previously held the position of AVP of Education at The Respect Institute, which Macavinta co-founded to promote equity for vulnerable youth. Additionally, Macavinta has extensive experience as the founder and lead instructional designer at True Learning Co., providing consulting services and developing training frameworks for various organizations. Macavinta has also served as a Juvenile Justice Commissioner for Santa Clara County, contributing to improvements in juvenile facilities and programs. A former freelance journalist with contributions to major publications, Macavinta co-authored a YA bestseller and holds a BA in Journalism from San Francisco State University.
