Vanessa Pai-Thompson

Vanessa Pai-Thompson serves as the Managing Senior Counsel for Public Policy Litigation & Law at Planned Parenthood Federation of America since November 2023, following a significant tenure as Senior Counsel in the same department. Previously, Vanessa was an Assistant Federal Public Defender at the Federal Public Defender, Western District of Washington, from July 2014 to November 2023, where representation was provided to clients in criminal proceedings and appeals. Additionally, Vanessa served as an Adjunct Professor at Seattle University School of Law from January 2022 to June 2023, teaching Criminal Procedure Adjudicative. Prior experience includes roles as a Staff Attorney at Neighborhood Defender Service and Brooklyn Defender Services, focusing on various aspects of criminal defense. Vanessa holds a Doctor of Law (JD) from New York University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Psychology from the University of Washington.
