Andrew Gans serves as the Senior News Editor at Playbill.com since January 1991, where management of a writing and editing staff focuses on covering theatre in New York and nationwide. Gans developed popular features such as Diva Talk and Their Favorite Things, which have significantly increased reader engagement. As a freelance writer since 1994, contributions include liner notes for notable recordings and features on prominent theatre figures, alongside editing the annual Tony Awards souvenir program. Previously, Gans worked as a seventh-grade mathematics teacher through the New York City Teaching Fellows program and held the position of CBS Reference Manager from 1991 to 1992. Gans holds a B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Theatre Arts from Brandeis University.
