Derwyn Thomas

Mr. Derwyn Thomas is a non-executive director on the Board of PNB MetLife. He is presently a Senior Vice President & Chief Actuary - Asia. He is responsible for leading the actuarial function across Asia, including in particular responsibility for US GAAP, Embedded Value Reporting and Product pricing approval. He has also led large scale initiatives related to new financial standards, automation and organization.

Prior to his current role, Mr. Thomas acted successively as Chief Actuary and Chief Risk Officer of MetLife Japan.

He joined AIG in 2007, was transferred to its Alico subsidiary and continued through the acquisition of Alico by MetLife in 2010. Prior to joining AIG, he worked for Towers Perrin and Swiss Re.

He is a Fellow member of Institute of Actuaries (UK) and holds a B.Sc. (Hons) in Mathematics from Bristol University.
