Joe Thornton

Joe Thornton is a skilled software engineer with extensive experience in satellite communications and ground systems. Currently serving as a Senior Software Engineer in Research and Development at PolyAI since March 2025, Thornton previously held the position of Team Leader for Data Acquisition and Delivery at Axelspace Corporation from November 2022 to March 2025. Prior to that, Thornton worked at LabLogic Systems Ltd. from July 2018 to October 2022, where responsibilities included leading the development of a Radiopharmaceutical Laboratory Information Management System and providing first/second line support. Thornton's career began with a role as a Student Teacher at Sheffield Hallam University from September 2017 to July 2018. Thornton holds a PGCE in Computing and a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Computer Science (Hons) from Sheffield Hallam University.
