Herbert Schneider is an accomplished professional in the field of production planning and quality assurance, currently serving as Leiter der Planung at Porsche Leipzig GmbH since May 2021. Prior experience includes roles at Volkswagen AG, where Schneider worked from June 2011 to April 2021 as Manager Produktionsplanung - Produktionskonzepte and later as Leiter Planungs- und Produktionssystem Montage. Schneider also held leadership positions in quality assurance at Volkswagen Argentinien between April 2010 and May 2011, and was involved in project management for quality assurance from June 2008 to March 2010. Earlier career experience includes a significant tenure at Volkswagen AG from November 1999 to May 2008, focused on planning in testing and filling technology, along with a role as a production planner. Additionally, research experience as a production technology researcher at United Technologies Research Center from January 1996 to October 1999 complements Schneider's strong background. Schneider earned a Diplom-Ingenieur in Fertigungstechnik from FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg between 1989 and 1995.

Porsche found a second home for itself at its Leipzig location more than ten years ago. Since the ground-breaking ceremony in the year 2000 we have continued the development of the Porsche story here. Since that time a great deal has been constructed and produced in Leipzig: with three extensions to our works, for example, we have created the space required for the production of new Porsche models, cars such as the Cayenne, the Panamera and the Carrera GT – the super sports car which was produced up to 2006 in a limited edition of 1,270 vehicles. And the new Macan series will by no means be the end of the story. In fact it's only just the beginning.
