Sam Ruda

Sam Ruda is a seasoned maritime consultant with extensive experience in the shipping and transportation industry. Currently serving as a Maritime Consultant at GKSF Global Research since April 2015, Ruda also holds the position of Director at the Port of Portland, where tenure began in April 2003. Previous roles include Director of Global Transportation at Nike Inc. from April 2001 to April 2004, GM of Sales for the Western Region at NYK Line from September 1999 to September 2000, and Coordinating Manager for the North America Liner Division at NYK Line from October 1994 to July 1999, with responsibilities that included marketing and pricing across multiple Asia-Pacific regions. Ruda’s career began at Sea-Land Service, Inc. in sales for the Pacific Division, followed by various sales management positions at American President Lines. Ruda holds a BA in Economics from Rutgers University, completed between 1981 and 1985.
