Derek Johnson

Derek Johnson is an experienced legal professional with a focus on intellectual property and corporate law. Currently serving as the Managing Director and General Counsel at Portal Innovations, LLC since July 2023, Derek previously held the position of SVP, Senior Counsel at Myeloid Therapeutics from April 2022 to May 2023. Derek's extensive background includes roles as Associate General Counsel for Intellectual Property at Baxter International Inc. and Senior Counsel for Intellectual Property at Takeda Pharmaceuticals. Prior to these positions, Derek was a Partner at McDermott Will & Emery. Derek holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Illinois College of Law and a Master of Science degree in Molecular Biology from the Illinois Institute of Technology.
