Executive Vice President, Chief Communications and Impact Officer, Ashley Clinkscale enters her first season with the Portland Trail Blazers.

With over 15 years of experience, Clinkscale leads the day-to-day and long-term communication strategy for the organization including driving the strategy and communication around the team’s diversity, equity and inclusion efforts. Additionally, Clinkscale leads the organization’s efforts alongside key corporate partners to raise awareness and address important issues in the community, with the goal of positively impacting underserved kids and families where they live, learn and play. Bringing solid experience with leading global sports campaigns and QSR, her vast experience in strategic planning, media relations, community partnerships and crisis management have garnered successful campaigns.

Clinkscale has led innovative and content driven approaches to compliment brand objectives via strategic public relations campaigns, media tours, press conferences, public affairs, marketing and community communication efforts. Clinkscale’s repertoire of clientele includes AT&T, NCAA, Major League Soccer (MLS), Zaxby's and Feld Entertainment.

Prior to joining the Trail Blazers, Clinkscale led communication strategy for the Oklahoma City Thunder as Director of Corporate Communications. In addition, Clinkscale previously supported in-house consumer campaigns for The PGA of America, CSE, St. John & Partners, Moroch Partners and Greenville Drive (MILB).

A native of Greenville, S.C., Clinkscale received her Bachelor of Arts in Mass Media Arts from Clark Atlanta University. Ashley and her husband, Bernard, reside in Northeast Portland.

The Portland Trail Blazers (the Blazers) are an American professional basketball team based in Portland, Oregon. The Trail Blazers compete in the National Basketball Association as a member of the league's Western Conference Northwest Division. The team played its home games in the Memorial Coliseum before moving to Moda Center in 1995 (called the Rose Garden until 2013). The franchise entered the league as an expansion team in 1970, and has enjoyed a strong following as the only NBA team based in the bi-national Pacific Northwest: from 1977 through 1995, the team sold out 814 consecutive home games, the longest such streak in American major professional sports at the time.
