Ran Ilany has extensive experience in the cybersecurity industry, with a strong focus on product development and management. Ran is currently working at YL Ventures as an Insider. Prior to that, they co-founded and served as the CEO of Portshift, a company that introduced the first Kubernetes-Native Security Platform. Ran also worked as an Entrepreneur in Residence at Team8, specializing in cybersecurity.
Before that, they held various roles at Check Point Software Technologies, including Head of Appliances & High End and Director of Infrastructure and Operation. In these roles, they were responsible for the development of Check Point's Security Platforms product portfolio and the establishment of the company's Product Operational Area. Ran also worked at RADWare as the VP of Deep Packet Inspection and at Blade Fusion LTD, where they served as the Founder, CEO, and VP of R&D, leading the development of multi-bladed security appliances.
Ran began their career at MainControl, where they worked as a Development Manager and later as the Director of Engineering. Their expertise lies in product development, technology roadmap planning, and team management.
Ran Ilany completed their Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from Technion - Israel Institute of Technology, where they studied from 1991 to 1995.
