Sylvie Antal is a Fulbright U.S. Student Program Fellow and English Teaching Assistant at the America For Bulgaria Foundation, currently teaching English language, American culture, and media literacy at Dr. Petar Beron Foreign Language High School. Antal serves as a Policy Research and Communications Associate at Portulans Institute, focusing on digital transformation and ICT policy, while also leading content development for the Network Readiness Index. Previous positions include working as a Policy Associate, Diversity Program Assistant, and Research Assistant at the University of Michigan's School of Information, as well as internships at the Federal Communications Commission and The Borgen Project. Antal holds a Master of Science in Human-Computer Interaction and a Bachelor of Science in Information Science from the University of Michigan.

Founded in 2019, the Portulans Institute (PI) is an independent nonprofit, nonpartisan research and educational institute based in Washington DC.
