Sam Perman is a seasoned software engineer with extensive experience in various technical roles. Currently, Sam has been contributing to RStudio, Inc. as a Software Engineer since March 2019. Prior to this, Sam served as an Architect at Brightcove from February 2006 to February 2019, and as a Systems Architect at Ruckus Network, Inc. from April 2004 to February 2006. Earlier career highlights include the role of Principal Software Engineer at ATG from 1999 to 2004 and various positions at GTE between January 1998 and November 1999. Sam holds a Master of Software Engineering degree from Carnegie Mellon University, where studies were completed from May 1996 to December 1997, and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science degree from Carnegie Mellon University, obtained from September 1992 to May 1996.
