Niels van Buuren is an experienced executive in the energy sector with a strong background in strategic planning, project development, and operational leadership. Currently serving as EVP Iberia at Power2X since January 2022, Niels focuses on energy transition consulting and the development of large-scale energy assets. As Chairman and CEO of INOVACAT since January 2018, Niels oversees innovative technology for producing high-value (bio)propylene and BTX. Previous roles include Executive Director of Strategy and Analysis at Centrica Energy, Executive Vice-President Commercial Affairs at ONE-Dyas, and COO at Avante Petroleum SA. Niels has also held key positions at AtlasInvest, McKinsey & Company, Gulf Canada Limited, and Clyde Petroleum. Academic credentials include an MBA from INSEAD and an MSc in Geology from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
