Michael Makowski

Michael Makowski, PhD, has extensive experience in polymer science and performance testing, holding various managerial and technical roles at PPG since 1998, including Manager of Photochromics Performance Testing and Global Portfolio Manager. Makowski directs research projects utilizing a range of modeling and simulation methods and leads AI/ML and Data Science initiatives. Previous positions include Lead Scientist at Cytec, Research Fellow at NASA, Formulation Chemist at BF Goodrich, and Research Chemist at Hercules. Makowski holds an M.S. and Ph.D. in Polymer Science from The University of Akron, a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Delaware, and an Executive MBA from the University of Pittsburgh Katz Graduate School of Business.
