Rachel Ferebee Maher

Rachel Ferebee Maher currently serves as a Senior Research Associate and Senior Research Chemist at PPG since May 2021. Previously, Rachel held the position of Senior Scientist II at L'Oréal from February 2016 to May 2021, where significant contributions included formulating natural prototypes for hair styling, optimizing scale-up processes, and leading consumer testing initiatives, resulting in three granted and five pending patents. Rachel's earlier experience includes work as a Graduate Research Assistant at Carnegie Mellon University, focusing on the synthesis and characterization of multifunctional hybrid materials, complemented by various research roles at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and the Georgia Institute of Technology. Rachel earned a PhD and MS in Materials Science & Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and a BS in Materials Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
