Sean A. Haley

Board Member at Prevention Institute

Sean A. Haley, Ph.D., has always focused on people and community empowerment, while working to create equitable and sustainable programs, systems, and structures that improve conditions for all citizens, but especially those who have been historically marginalized or underserved. His work as a leader, strategist, thought partner, facilitator, developer, and executive coach, has led to positive outcomes in communities of various demographics nationwide. Sean’s career in leadership began with his work in higher education at Huston-Tillotson University. Here he served in multiple roles in the Office of Student Affairs that allowed for deep work with a significant population of first-generation college students and under resourced community members. Following a prolific career in educational leadership roles at PK-12 and postsecondary levels, he worked to improve educational outcomes in targeted Texas regions and statewide while in the role of Coordinator for the Texas High School Project at the Region XIII Education Service Center.

Sean grew up in Houston, TX, is a lifelong member of St. James’ Episcopal Church, and is a graduate of Strake Jesuit College Preparatory, Morehouse College, and the University of Texas at Austin where he earned a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology.
