Currently serving as the Logistics Training and Exercise Coordinator and Public Assistance Specialist at the South Carolina Emergency Management Division since February 2022, Layla previously worked as a Social Studies Teacher at Fairfield County School District from 2018 to May 2022. Earlier in the career, Layla gained valuable experience in emergency medical services at MEDSHORE EMS from 2005 to 2017. Academically, Layla holds a Master's degree in Public/Applied History from American Military University (2018-2021) and a Bachelor's degree in History from Columbia College (2013-2017).
