Kayvon Avishan is a Lead Data Platform Engineer and Lead DevOps Engineer - Data at Progressive Insurance since June 2019, focusing on transitioning the data infrastructure to a new cloud platform. Prior experience includes roles as a Senior DevOps Engineer - Data and Senior Data Engineer at IBM from June 2016 to June 2019, contributing to the development of a healthcare analytics platform on the Hadoop ecosystem. Kayvon's background also includes positions as a Data Engineer at Explorys, an IBM Company, and a Computational Biologist at Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research, with expertise in applying data science to study disease and gene expression patterns. Kayvon holds a Master of Science in Bioinformatics and a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Oregon.
