Chief Marketing Officer at Progressive

Mari Pumarejo was named Chief Marketing Officer in June 2025. In her role, she develops and leads the company’s overall marketing strategy and sets the creative vision for the brand, overseeing all areas and functions of Marketing including research, analytics, human insights, creative development and management, public relations, crisis management, agent communications, marketing communications, digital marketing, social media, brand-related community management, and influencer marketing.

Mari joined Progressive in 2005 as a Marketing Manager and during her tenure has held numerous roles across the organization. Most recently, she held senior leadership positions in the company’s Corporate HR and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) organizations. Mari brings decades of marketing experience; at Progressive she previously led Hispanic Marketing in Personal Lines Acquisition, served as Employment Brand Director and was the Director of Internal and External Communications leading the Public Relations, Agency Marketing, Crisis Management, Internal Communications, and Social Media teams.

Prior to joining Progressive, Mari held roles in business, marketing, advertising, and public relations, collaborating with brands such as Glidden and Ralph Lauren Paints, The Home Depot, and Ford Motor Company. She holds a bachelor’s degree in advertising and public relations from Seton Hill University and an MBA from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
