Kristin Cuilla began their work experience as a Teacher and Academy Leader at the Charlotte County School Board in 1993, where they focused on curriculum development and staff collaboration. Kristin later transitioned to roles in Wake County Public Schools, serving as a Teacher, Assistant Principal, Senior Administrator, and Principal until 2009. From 2009 to 2022, they worked at New Tech Network as the Senior Director of District & School Development. Currently, Kristin holds executive positions at Project Lead The Way, serving as Vice President of New Growth & Strategic Accounts until 2023, when they transitioned to the role of Vice President of School Success.
Kristin Cuilla holds a Ph.D. in Educational Research & Policy Analysis from North Carolina State University, earned from 1998 to 2004. Prior to that, they completed a Masters of School Administration at the same university from 1998 to 2001. Kristin also obtained a Master of Arts in English Literature from Florida State University in 1993 and a Bachelor of Arts in English with a focus on Secondary English Education in 1992. Most recently, in 2015 to 2016, they participated in the Diversity Leaders Initiative at OneSC, focusing on Leadership. Additionally, Kristin holds certifications in North Carolina English 9-12, North Carolina K-12 School Administrator, and North Carolina Language Arts 6-9 from the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction.
