Melanie Preston, Ph.D., is a seasoned professional in the biochemistry field, currently serving as a Senior Product Strategist for Software-Centric Products at Promega Corporation since January 2016. Previously, Melanie held various positions at Promega, including Senior Applications Scientist and Applications Scientist. Melanie’s academic career includes roles at the University of Wisconsin-Madison as an Assistant Scientist and Postdoctoral Fellow, focusing on the characterization of novel nucleotidyltransferases and C. elegans poly(U) polymerases under the guidance of Professor Marvin Wickens. Prior research at the University of Rochester Medical Center involved postdoctoral work on tRNA modifications in Saccharomyces cerevisiae with Professor Eric Phizicky, complemented by earlier graduate studies on tRNAMelanie's variants and self-incompatibility mechanisms in Arabidopsis lyrata.
