Joe Chang has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Joe is currently the Managing Director at Prosperity7 Ventures since August 2020. Prior to that, they served as a Board Director (Pro-Bono) at the Asian Fund for Cancer Research, Ltd. starting from January 2017.
From 2016 to 2020, Joe worked as a Partner at Eight Roads, where they co-led the technology team and made investments in B2B and Enterprise IT sectors. Joe was also a Partner at Softbank China Venture Capital from 2014 to 2016, focusing on early-stage and growth capital venture investments in hi-tech industries.
Joe's experience at Cisco Systems as the Managing Director - Corporate Development - Greater China (2010-2014) involved leading the company's corporate development activities and investments in the region. Joe also held leadership roles at Microsoft, including Country Manager (Entertainment & Devices) - China and Director - Asia Pacific (2006-2010).
Before joining Microsoft, Joe worked at McKinsey & Company as an Associate Principal (1999-2006), advising CEOs and senior executives on strategy and corporate finance. Joe began their career at Coopers & Lybrand as a Senior Consultant and also gained experience at Merrill Lynch and Eastman Kodak Company.
Joe Chang completed their education at three institutions. Joe received a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering from Northwestern University in the years 1989 to 1994. Later, from 1997 to 1999, they pursued an MBA and MEM from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management, focusing on Finance, Marketing, Organizational Behavior, and Operations. Furthermore, prior to their university studies, Joe Chang attended Fairport High School, although the specific years are unknown.
