Jim Portela

Jim Portela is an accomplished banking professional with extensive experience in operations and loan administration. Currently serving as Senior Vice President and Director of Operations at Provident Bank since June 2016, Jim leads a diverse operations team managing functions such as Asset Recovery, Deposit Operations, and Loan Administration. Previously, Jim held the role of Senior Vice President and Director of Loan Administration, overseeing all aspects of loan services and management. Prior to Provident Bank, Jim worked at Red Bank Catholic High School as Head Football Coach and Athletic Site Coordinator while also teaching business. Additionally, Jim consulted for various prominent companies including Wells Fargo and Deutsche Bank, where Jim served as Managing Director, leading global loan operations. Jim holds an MBA in Finance from Seton Hall University and a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Saint Peter's University.
