Proyecto Mirador
Proyecto Mirador is a Gold Standard certified carbon offset project building "Dos Por Tres" fuel-efficient cookstoves that improve health, economy and the environment for the rural poor of Honduras. We have built more than 250,000 Dos Por Tres stoves to date, benefitting more than 600,000 people. With a Dos por Tres stove, families cut their fuelwood consumption by 50% compared to traditional cookstoves, reduce CO2 emissions, protect rapidly diminishing rainforest, reduce time and cost to procure fuelwood, and eliminate smoke and soot from the indoor environment, thus protecting the respiratory and cardiovascular health of women and children. We also create quality, full-time employment for +250 Hondurans and support the local economy through 27 microenterprises.
