Kate Gunby, PhD has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Kate started their career as a Records Clerk at Lasher Holzapfel Sperry & Ebberson in 2005. At Kenyon College, they served as the Hosting Coordinator for the Office of Admissions from 2006 to 2007, and later as a Sociology Office Assistant from 2008 to 2009. Kate then worked as an Instructor and Residential Advisor at Exploration Summer Programs from 2007 to 2008, where they designed and taught classes and supervised high school students.
In 2009, Kate joined The University of Arizona as a Teaching Assistant, and later became an Instructor from 2011 to 2015. Kate also held positions such as Conference Organizer for the National Institute for Civil Discourse, Research Assistant for the MacArthur Foundation Research Network on Youth and Participatory Politics, Conference Organizer for NSF Conference on Rights and Their Translation into Practice, and Research Assistant for the Workforce Diversity and Performance Project, funded by the NSF.
As an Independent Consultant from 2012 to 2015, Kate analyzed interviews for USAID and provided findings for targeted health care interventions in Ghana. Kate also designed surveys and advised on business models and customer retention strategies for an online dating start-up.
From 2015 onwards, Kate has been involved with PRR, an integrated communications firm. Kate started as a Research Intern in 2015 and progressed to roles such as Research Associate, Senior Research Associate, Associate Research Director, and currently, Director of Research. In their current role, they lead the research team and works with government agencies, organizations, and businesses focused on transportation, public health, and environmental improvements and policies.
Throughout their career, Kate has demonstrated skills in project management, supervision, research, and data analysis. Kate has trained and supervised employees, developed and administered surveys and experiments, and presented research methods and results to clients and stakeholders. Kate'sexperience spans multiple sectors and markets, highlighting their versatility and expertise in various areas of research and communications.
Kate Gunby, PhD, has an extensive education history in the field of sociology. Kate obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree from the University of Arizona, specializing in sociology. Prior to that, they earned a Master's Degree in Sociology from the same institution. Kate'seducational journey started at Kenyon College, where they completed their Bachelor's Degree in Sociology. Additionally, Kate Gunby has also obtained a Professional Researcher Certification (PRC) from the Insights Association in May 2016.
