Farzia Karim

Farzia Karim, PhD, currently serves as an Electro-Optical Engineer III at Psionic since July 2025, following a role as Senior Optics/Photonics Engineer at Nikon from October 2022 to 2025, where responsibilities included supporting production and developing next-generation laser radar products utilizing FMCW LiDAR technology. Prior experiences include a postdoctoral research associate at Michigan State University focused on fiber optics sensing and a graduate research and teaching assistantship at the University of Dayton, where involvement in electro-optics and photonics was prominent. Farzia's early career features lecturing roles at various institutions, including East West University and the International University of Business Agriculture and Technology, and research in nanotechnology at the Asian Institute of Technology. Educational qualifications comprise a PhD in Electro-Optics and Photonics Engineering from the University of Dayton, an MSc in Nanotechnology from the Asian Institute of Technology, and a BSc in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Rajshahi University of Engineering & Technology.
