Yvon Barrière was elected Regional Executive Vice-President for Quebec in 2018 and re-elected in June 2021. He previously held the position of Quebec Regional Vice-President for the Union of Safety and Justice Employees (USJE).
In his capacity as a correctional program officer from 2002 to 2014, Yvon had a reputation for empathy and working constructively with the prison community.
Yvon co-chairs two national portfolios: official languages and directly chartered locals. He is also the Alliance Executive Committee representative for the EB bargaining team.
Yvon studied at the University of Quebec in Trois-Rivières where he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree and a Certificate in Administration.
