Nicholas de Klerk

Nicholas de Klerk is an experienced architect and director currently serving as Trustee Director of the Purcell Employee Ownership Trust and Head of Hotels at Purcell since July 2023. With a focus on luxury and lifestyle hotel projects, Nicholas leads the design and delivery of various hospitality developments across the UK and internationally. Prior to this role, Nicholas held the position of Director at Translation Architecture from December 2020 to June 2023, and served as Associate Architect and Project Lead at Aukett Swanke from November 2007 to November 2020. Nicholas also directed his own firm, Nicholas de Klerk Architect, from March 2004 to October 2007, and provided design tutoring in architecture at the University of the Witwatersrand from January 2003 to October 2007. Nicholas began his architectural career as an architect (candidate) at Empowered Spaces and Mashabane Rose Architects from 2000 to 2004. Educational qualifications include a Part 3 in Architecture from UCL and a B.Arch from the University of the Witwatersrand.
