Weiying Yang

Weiying (Wei) Yang is a highly experienced legal professional specializing in patent law and intellectual property strategy. Currently serving as Senior Assistant General Counsel for Patent & Product IP Strategy at Purdue Pharma L.P. since September 2013, Weiying has held various roles including Assistant General Counsel and Senior Patent Attorney. Prior to this, Weiying worked as a Patent Attorney at Saul Ewing LLP and Edwards Wildman Palmer LLP, and began the legal career at Synnestvedt & Lechner LLP. Before transitioning to law, Weiying contributed as an Associate Scientist and Medicinal Chemist at Schering-Plough. Educational qualifications include a Juris Doctor from Rutgers Law School, a Master of Science in Organic Chemistry from the University of Pennsylvania, and dual degrees in Applied Chemistry and Intellectual Property Law from Peking University.
