Katie Chong

Katie Chong is a highly experienced project manager and optical engineer with a robust background in various roles across multiple companies. Currently serving as a Staff Project Manager at Q-CTRL, responsibilities include managing customer-facing projects, contract negotiations, budgeting, and stakeholder management. As a co-founder and director of the Sydney Photonics Industry Network, Katie supports the community in Australia's optics and photonics sector. Previous positions include Production Project Engineer at Advanced Navigation, Technical Program Manager at Baraja, and R&D Engineer at Finisar Corporation. Academic qualifications include a Ph.D. in Physics focused on optics and nanophotonics from The Australian National University, a Diploma of Project Management from TAFE NSW, and a Bachelor's Degree in Physics from the University of Otago.
