We aim to empower communities to identify reliable knowledge based on credible evidence. We create processes, tools, and incentives that promote transparency about the provenance, relevance, quality, reliability, and integrity of the data underpinning the evidence.

Our work is informed by a deep understanding of cognitive science principles, distributed cognitive systems, institutional design, data science, and informatics. It is motivated by our commitment to helping communities act wisely.

On a day-to-day level, we help knowledge-generating entities register their claims, publish the evidence supporting the claims, and report the data quality standards and processes they used to generate that evidence. We provide public verification of registration, publication, and reporting to illuminate the credibility of registrants and the trustworthiness of their knowledge production methods.

Our longer-term goal is to enable communities to more efficiently evaluate claim trustworthiness and reliability through computable, standards-based public records. Efficient public evaluation of credibility will create social incentives for producing defensible claims supported by high-quality evidence and data.
