Mr. Al-Mahmoud is Chief Executive Officer of Qatar Investment Authority “QIA”. He has held this position since September 2018. He is also a member of Qatar’s Supreme Council of Economic Affairs and Investments.
In February 2019, Mr. Al-Mahmoud was appointed Vice-Chairman of Qatar Exchange. Prior to joining QIA he has held several high profile positions within Qatar including CEO of Qatar Development Bank. He is a board member of several companies including Qatar National Bank.
Mr. Al-Mahmoud is very active in the world of arts and culture. He was CEO of Qatar Museums during a key period in its history. His project leadership on the newly opened National Museum of Qatar is widely recognized. Time magazine named the museum one of the World's Greatest Places to Visit in 2019.
