Claus Hallwirth

Claus Hallwirth, PhD, is a Senior Field Application Scientist at QIAGEN since August 2021. With extensive experience in gene therapy research, Claus serves as an Adjunct Research Associate and previously held the title of Senior Research Officer at the Children's Medical Research Institute since January 2009. Claus also worked as a Field Application Specialist at Bio-Rad Laboratories for a brief period in 2021 and completed a post-doctoral research position at the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute from June 2006 to January 2009. Earlier in career, Claus was a Molecular Biological Scientist at Molecular Diagnostic Services (Pty) Ltd. Academic qualifications include a PhD in Molecular Virology and a BScAgric in Molecular Genetics, Biochemistry, and Virology from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, along with a graduate exchange experience in Molecular Virology from UC Irvine.
