Maxime LAOT, CFA, FRM, currently serves as Chief Risk & Compliance Officer at Qonto, a position held since January 2020, where duties have included VP of Risk & Compliance and Head of Risk. Prior experience includes serving as a Senior Banking Supervisor at the European Central Bank from September 2014 to December 2019 and as Deputy Head of Mission in Internal Audit at Groupe BPCE from September 2010 to August 2014. Maxime LAOT began the career as a Junior Consultant at BearingPoint from June 2008 to August 2010. Academic qualifications include a Master of Business Administration from ESSEC Business School and a series of preparatory classes in Economics from Lycée Hoche.

Qonto was born out of frustration. As new entrepreneurs, Alexandre and Steve felt bogged down by their own banking experience. It was time-consuming. It was complex. It also lacked the modern tools that progressive companies need. So, they decided to create a banking product fit for the modern entrepreneur. One that when you use it, just seems to "click". Our goal? To dust off the old banking experience and be the power pack for small businesses. We are driven by our desire to save our customers time.
