Khoa Nguyen

Khoa Nguyen is currently an Associate Member of Technical Staff at QuantumScape, where responsibilities include studying the chemical composition of solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) and cathode electrolyte interphase (CEI) in lithium-ion batteries using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), as well as developing advanced XPS mapping and depth profiling techniques. Prior to this, Khoa served as an R&D Analytical Technician, developing screening methods for quality control of battery components and analyzing thin film morphology to improve processes. Khoa's academic background includes a Master of Science in Engineering focusing on Electronic Materials and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry-Materials Science from UCLA, alongside studies at De Anza College. Practical experience includes working in UCLA's Semiconductor Laboratory, applying various fabrication techniques for micro-electronic devices.
