Alessandro Bruno is the Co-Founder and Director of Engineering at QuantWare, a company focused on developing and fabricating superconducting quantum processors. Prior to their current role, they worked as a Quantum Engineer and Post Doc at QuTech from 2013 to 2021. Alessandro also served as a Post-Doc in the Teun Klapwijk group at Technische Universiteit Delft from 2012 to 2013. Alessandro co-founded New Generation Informatica in 1998 and held the position of Co-Founder until 2012. Alessandro's experience also includes working as a PhD student at Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche from 2009 to 2011 and as the Owner and Operator of OpenLab from 2004 to 2011. Alessandro was a Visiting PhD Student at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) / University of Karlsruhe (TH) in 2010 and 2011.
Alessandro Bruno began their education at Tito Lucrezio Caro, where they attended a Scientific High School from 1994 to 1999. Alessandro then pursued a 5-year degree in Engineering at Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II from 2000 to 2008. Following this, they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Engineering Physics/Applied Physics from CNR - Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche, where they studied from 2009 to 2011. Alessandro then engaged in a research collaboration at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) focusing on superconducting phase qubits from 2010 to 2011. Lastly, they completed a Post-Doc degree in Quantum Computing at Delft University of Technology, specializing in this field from 2012 to 2016.
