Queens Carbon
Daniel Kopp is the CEO, CTO, and Co-Founder of Queens Carbon, a company focused on developing patented technology for CO2 emission mitigation and carbon-neutral cement production, building on over a decade of university research. Daniel serves as an Innovator Fellow at Breakthrough Energy and previously worked at Rutgers University for a decade, holding roles such as Research Associate and Postdoctoral Research Associate, specializing in carbon capture, inorganic material synthesis, and hydrothermal synthesis methods that led to patenting "Hydrothermal Vapor Synthesis." Earlier experience includes positions at Chiral Photonics and in various research assistant roles at Rutgers University, focusing on fiber optics and ceramics. Daniel holds a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from Rutgers University, complemented by an M.S. and B.S. in the same field.

Queens Carbon
Queens Carbon’s mission is to build a sustainable future by eliminating deep-rooted CO2 emissions in industrial manufacturing and beyond. We’re developing a novel hydrothermal process that dramatically reduces the energy needed to decompose carbonate minerals and allows for the capture of all CO2 produced during the reaction. This low energy solution for carbonate processing creates a commercially viable path for widespread carbon capture projects and carbon neutral cement production. At scale, this technology will enable gigaton-scale reductions in industrial CO2 emissions via avoidance and capture routes.
